Single Upright – 650mm to 2.7m

The end posts of your shelving unit. Single uprights stand at the outer ends of a Shelf Space unit and hold the shelves in place. They come in seven heights from 650mm to 2.7m and are pre-drilled every 130mm, so you can set each shelf where you want it. They're made in South Africa from heat-treated pine and are delivered free anywhere in the country.

Use them to replace an upright, change the height of a unit, or build your own unit from separate parts.

How many do I need?

Every unit has 4 single uprights, 2 at the front and 2 at the back. Units with more than one bay also need double uprights between the bays.

Add extra components

• More bays: double uprights from R71, to join bays together.
• Shelves: Standard shelf from R187 or Premium shelf from R223.
• Stability: an aluminium cross brace, R89, for a freestanding unit.
• Open bottom: a base connector from R26, to join the uprights at floor level without a bottom shelf.

Delivery

• Free nationwide delivery on every order, with no minimum spend.
• We make your order in our own South African workshop, usually within 1 to 3 business days. The courier then takes about 1 to 3 business days, and you get a tracking link by email.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a custom height?
Yes. Order the next standard size up and add the height you need in the special instructions at checkout. For example, for 1,600mm, order the 1,800mm upright. We'll cut it down for you.

Single or double upright?
Single uprights go on the outer ends of a unit. Double uprights go between bays, where two bays join.

Can I mix heights in one run?
Yes. You can step a run up or down, for example from 900mm to 1.8m and back again.
