Masonite Backboard | 900mm W × 650–2700mm H

Close off the back of your shelving. This Masonite backboard is 900mm wide and cut to the same height as your uprights, from 650mm to 2.7m. One board covers the back of one bay. It nails onto the back of Shelf Space uprights and gives your unit a neat, finished look. It's cut to size in South Africa from 3mm Supawood and delivered free anywhere in the country.

Use it on freestanding units and room dividers, behind a unit against a painted wall, in a shop or stockroom, or anywhere you don't want things falling off the back.

What's in the box

• 6 panel nails (one in each corner, plus two for the middle)

How to fit it

Lay the board across the back of the bay and hammer a nail into each corner of the uprights, then two more across the middle. If your unit has a cross brace, fit the board behind it.

Goes well with

• Close the ends: Masonite side panels (pair), to finish off both ends of your run.
• Tool wall instead: the pine pegboard panel, R269, if you want to hang tools on the back.
• Shelving: 1-bay shelving units or extra shelves from R187.
