This Delivery, Returns & Order Policy forms part of the Terms & Conditions of Shelf Space and must be read together with our Refund Policy and Terms of Service.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to the terms below.
All Shelf Space products are manufactured, prepared or packed to order.
Orders are typically processed within 10–15 business days, unless otherwise stated on the product page, quotation or checkout process.
Delivery will take place within a reasonable time after dispatch, depending on your location, courier availability and regional delivery routes.
In terms of South African law, suppliers must deliver within the agreed time or, where no specific time is agreed, within a reasonable period.
Delays may occur due to:

💡 Load-shedding
🪵 Supplier or material delays
🚚 Courier or regional constraints
🌧️ Weather conditions
📅 Public holidays or seasonal demand
⚠️ Force majeure events beyond our reasonable control
Where there is a material delay, we will communicate with you as reasonably as possible.
Delivery fees are tiered and calculated according to your order value.
Our standard nationwide delivery structure is:
🚚 Orders from R0 – R998: R99 delivery fee
🚚 Orders from R999 – R2,998: R199 delivery fee
🚚 Orders from R2,999 – R5,998: R299 delivery fee
🚚 Orders from R5,999 – R7,998: R399 delivery fee
🎉 Orders from R7,999 and above: Free delivery
Delivery usually takes 1–5 business days after dispatch, depending on your area and courier routing.
Additional charges may apply for:
📍 Remote or outlying areas
🧱 Difficult-access locations
🚛 Special delivery arrangements
🔁 Re-delivery due to incorrect address details, customer unavailability or access issues
Delivery fees will be shown at checkout before payment is completed.
Where an address falls outside a standard delivery area, Shelf Space may contact you to confirm any additional delivery cost before dispatch.
Free delivery applies to standard delivery only and does not automatically include assembly, custom installation, hoisting, after-hours delivery or unusual site requirements.
You must provide a complete, accurate and accessible physical delivery address.
We do not deliver to:
❌ P.O. Boxes
❌ Unverified addresses
❌ Informal or inaccessible addresses
❌ Locations where safe delivery cannot reasonably be completed
The customer is responsible for ensuring that:
✅ The address is correct
✅ Someone is available to receive the order
✅ The delivery area is accessible
✅ Any estate, complex, security or access requirements are communicated in advance
✅ There is enough space for offloading and delivery
If delivery fails due to incorrect information, customer unavailability, denied access or unsuitable delivery conditions, re-delivery and handling fees may apply.
You have the right to inspect goods on delivery.
Please check your order as soon as it is received.
If goods are:

❌ Incorrect
📦 Missing components
🤔 Not as reasonably expected based on the confirmed order
You must either:
Refuse delivery immediately, where appropriate, or
Report the issue within 48 hours of delivery
Please provide clear photographs of the item, packaging and any visible issue.
Under the Consumer Protection Act, consumers may reject goods that do not match what was agreed, subject to the specific circumstances and applicable law.
All goods are supplied in accordance with the implied warranty of quality under the Consumer Protection Act.
If a product is defective, unsafe or not fit for its intended purpose, you may be entitled to a lawful remedy, which may include:

This applies within the period provided for under South African law, provided that the issue is not caused by misuse, incorrect assembly, overloading, unauthorised modification, unsuitable conditions, water damage, outdoor exposure or normal timber characteristics.
For valid defect claims, Shelf Space will assist with the appropriate collection, return or remedy process as required by law.
South African law does not provide an automatic right to return goods simply because you changed your mind, except where a cooling-off right applies under specific legislation.
Shelf Space may, at its discretion, allow a non-defective return if:
✅ The goods are unused
✅ The goods are unassembled
✅ The goods are in original packaging
✅ All parts and components are included
✅ The goods are in resellable condition
✅ The return request is made within a reasonable time
Approved non-defective returns may be subject to:

📦 Restocking fees
🚚 Courier or collection costs
🔍 Inspection fees
🛠️ Labour or repacking costs
Custom-made, modified, treated, assembled, used or non-standard items are generally not returnable unless required by law.
Where applicable under South African law, certain transactions may qualify for a cooling-off period.
This may include:
⏳ 5 business days for certain direct marketing transactions under the Consumer Protection Act
🛒 7 days for certain online transactions under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act
Where a lawful cooling-off right applies:
Goods must be returned
Goods must be unused and in suitable condition
The customer may be responsible for return shipping if the goods are not defective
Refunds will be processed as required by law
Cooling-off rights may not apply to all products, including certain custom-made or specially manufactured goods.
Orders may be cancelled before production, preparation or dispatch begins.
Once manufacturing, preparation, packing or dispatch has started, cancellation may not be possible, or a reasonable cancellation fee may apply.
Cancellation fees may include:

📐 Custom manufacturing costs
Custom-made, modified or special-order items may not be cancellable once work has started, unless otherwise required by law.
If delivery cannot be completed due to:
Customer unavailability
Incorrect delivery details
No access to the premises
Refusal of delivery without valid reason
Estate, security or access restrictions
Unsafe or unsuitable delivery conditions
A re-delivery fee may apply.
Additional courier, handling or storage charges may also apply where repeated delivery attempts are required.
All products are supplied flat-packed unless otherwise stated.
Where assembly is offered or arranged, it refers to standard assembly of the shelving unit only.
Shelf Space is not liable for damage, failure or injury caused by:
❌ Incorrect assembly by the customer or a third party
❌ Misuse
❌ Overloading
❌ Unauthorised modifications
❌ Outdoor or unsuitable environmental exposure
❌ Water or moisture damage
❌ Failure to secure units properly where required
❌ Using products outside their intended purpose
Products must be assembled and used responsibly.
Weight must be distributed evenly and units should be secured or anchored where necessary.
Shelf Space currently delivers within the Republic of South Africa only. 🇿🇦
Delivery times and costs may vary depending on location, courier routes and regional accessibility.
Remote or outlying areas may require additional delivery charges or longer delivery times.
All refunds are handled in accordance with:
